Investment Transparency and Safety

Third Party Custody Of Assets

Unlike many hedge funds, managed accounts are held in the investor's name at an independent FCM (Futures Commission Merchant). All FCMs must be licensed with both the NFA and CFTC, and act as an effective intermediary between the investor and money manager. Under a managed account structure, managers have no direct access to investor capital, and are only authorized to trade the account and collect agreed upon fees. This provides a vital safeguard for the investor and can successfully mitigate the possibility of investment fraud. Please note that investments are not held in segregated accounts and therefore have no protection in the event of OANDA's insolvency.
